Rostelecom gets new CEO amid Svyazinvest reform

MOSCOW, June 3 - Russia's former long-distance monopoly Rostelecom has named a regional telecoms chief as its new chief executive, putting him in charge of integrating Russia's state fixed line sector, the company said on Wednesday.
The Russian government last week cleared the reorganisation of national telecoms giant Svyazinvest, confirming a plan to merge the seven regional operators and Rostelecom into one operational company.
Anton Kolpakov, previously general director of Russian Far Eastern telecom DalSvyaz, will face the task of enabling the integration of Svyazinvest subsidiaries, Rostelecom said.
He is also supposed to improve Rostelecom's financial performance and develop its corporate business.
Svyazinvest has a 51 percent stake in Rostelecom.
