PDFPrintE-mail

Company Scartel, operating under the brand name Yota, August 30 in Kazan, has deployed the first network connection, a fourth-generation, standard LTE. Construction of the network took two months and cost $20 million. Total found 147 base stations, a signal that fully covers the city. Demonstrated in laboratory testing data rate of 90 megabits per second. In the wild service SpeedTest showed speed from 10 to 30 megabits per second while running multiple clients.
Network, launched in Kazan, allows no interruptions to watch high-definition video resolution of 1080p. According to the Yota’s CEO Denis Sverdlov, in all cities where Yota has not yet submitted, will be deployed only network LTE. As already connected to the WiMAX cities will develop both old and new networks. By the end of the year LTE appears in Novosibirsk, Samara, and two other cities whose names are not announced.
Yota is planning to release its very own LTE smartphone by the end of 2011. According to Sverdlov, this new Android-based LTE phone will be developed almost exclusively by Yota. The projected price of the new LTE phone is expected to be between $800 and $1000.
